1. Traffic and congestion on Port Rd and Pontypridd road will worsen. This already a highly congested area. Especially on the school run both AM+PM. This will impact emergency access. The nearest train station is about a 30 minute walk.
2. Pressure on services
Pressure on health, schools and infrastructure. GP Dental and schools are already at or even over capacity, with waiting lists in place additional housing will exacerbate this.
3. Environmental protection objectives and represents a significant and unmitigated environmental harm. Once lost, the ecological and landscape function of this green wedge land cannot be recreated. CC6-increasing frequent pollution alerts on our local beaches will worsen with development in this area.
Summary: Harm to transport and emergency access risk harm to social infrastructure both health and schools. Harm to environment.
