Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The development proposed off Port Road West near Weycock Cross would only exacerbate the horrendous traffic congestion which exists now for residents on Pontrypridd Road and nearby streets. Tailbacks up the new five mile road, on port road coming from the direction of Rhoose and from the Colcot road roundabout and on Pontrypridd road itself are long, particularly at rush hours and when schools finish for the day as it is. Putting such a large development at Weycock Cross will only make the situation worse. Sometimes even away from rush hours the sheer volume on traffic causes large queues to circum navigate the roundabout and if the road traffic collision any where in the area leading to the roundabout the results congestion and tailback can affect the whole of Barry as it has on occasions due to the roadworks. Access from the new developments onto the busy Port Road West will be problematic and traffic lights or a further roundabout will cause further chaotic traffic congestion. As it is air quality is poor in the area with consequences on residents health particular people with asthma, COPD and heart disease. Most houses will have 2 cars I anticipate, further increasing pollution for residents. Also the developments are at least 1/2 hr walking distance from the rail station. Local schools are also fully subscribed now. Romilly school would be a good 20 min walk away for fit adults let alone children and parents pushing prams. In conclusion these developments are in the wrong place and too the detriment of the physical and mental health of the local population.
