Who would be housed in the proposed development? Will there be Welsh Primary and Seconday Schools built to accommodate the influx of students?
Additional housing would cause it to be a very stressful environment for very many people, regardless of which language they speak
I strongly object to the proposed HG1 KS2 development due to concerns about increased traffic congestion, especially on Cardiff Road and Pen y Turnpike, and the lack of recent road upgrades. I question why the focus is on Dinas Powys instead of other sites, given the strain on local health services and schools. The destruction of green spaces and impact on wildlife are alarming. I believe objections are being deliberately made difficult to suppress dissent. Overall, I feel this development will harm our community’s health, environment, and quality of life.
I, and everyone one I know objects passionately about the proposed planning HG1 KS2.
The reasons are many but the following are the main objections
Traffic / Travel
There is significant congestion along Cardiff Road most of the day and also during busy times along Pen y Turnpike- so much so that Cardiff Road causes many hold ups, it is in no way feasible to have entrances to any additional housing on Cardiff road it would cause chaos. There has been no upgrade to the roads for 5 years, even though Dinas Powys has been requesting a by-pass for over a decade. Attempting to join the A4232 from Leckwith is a nightmare and there are always delays between there and Culverhouse Cross. To add an additional 300-500 cars would be farcical. Why is the Labour council focussing on Dinas Powys for building an additional housing estate when there are other sites elsewhere- it is making me question why I voted labour. How are A&E services going to be effected by the incresed traffic and population? Im on a waiting list that's already longer here than anywhere else- England has brought the waiting list times down, wales will never do this with the increased housing being built and lack ofunding being put into Health care.
Why have you made making objections to this proposal so very difficult? I take it is a ploy to prevent older or less tech savvy people from objecting?
Reduced Green belt
During Covid we were told that green spaces are imperative for mental health and emotional well being, you are destroying the very valuable green spaces and increasing everyone's stress levels by increasing pollution, road noise and volume of traffic.
Health and Education
It is incredibly difficult to get a doctor's appointment at the Health Centre since the recent additional housing in Dinas has been built. You stated that the health board said the Health centre could accommodate additional 3-500 patients, from discussing it with the doctors etc- that is not true, and they have NOT been consulted. The local primary school is currently full and would not be able to hose additional pupils- and the local High schools are also full to capacity. Where are the additional children/ young people going to be taught and by whom?
Local wildlife
I walk in the surrounding areas of Dinas, there is so much wildlife, to build additional houses would kill so much of our wildlife
Is someone taking a backhander in this, because it looks suspiciously as if it is so. We are being lied to- you are supposed to be protected us, the people not screwing us over!
