Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This is particularly needed, in particular access to the station from Penarth Marina, Tesco and Pont y Werin which currently is unsafe and unappealing for those walking, wheeling and cycling. Access to the station needs to be improved as well. Safe cycle storage at the station and/or cycle hire would enable people to connect transport modes. Cogan station links well to Llandough hospital with an ecycle, but needs a safe route across the A4055 prioritised for cyclists, as well as better access off the station platform to Andrews Road.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The interchange is a good start to improve public transport use but the frequency and expansion of bus and train services throughout the whole of the vale also needs to be addressed in order to encourage use and make it a practical alternative to private vehicle use. Simply building new interchanges and bus stops on its own is not enough.

Ymatebydd: Penarth Town Council

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Members did note the inclusion of Cogan Transport Interchange under section 6.196 but would have liked to see more information about its future developments as they see it as key to increasing public transport use to Barry and further to West Wales in general.

Members wished to advise that issues with both the bridge and the platforms at Cogan have been long term, with accessibility being central to these issues. Members felt that improvements to accessibility should be a priority at this site, with planting and landscaping considered secondary to this.

Members felt it was key to consider the additional stress on Penarth from increased anticipated demand of public transport needs and emphasised the need for this to be aptly considered by bus route providers as part of development work.
