Welsh Language will be harmed by introducing a new group of people into a settled Welsh community. Welsh Language schools will be under pressure from new residents.
Dinas Powys is a village which will lose it's identity if this development goes ahead, the greenbelt will be harmed opening up a large area around a new estate in an area that 15 little visited. Flood risk with run off increasing into the Eastbrook river - which floods often. Traffic will increase at the Cardiff side of Dinas Powys preventing people from Barry getting to Cardiff. Fumes at the Dinas Powys infant school (and traffic junction) will increase due to traffic jams - impacting on the health of our children. Schools, transport (by train + bus) and health services are poor already. The new estate will make this worse. What advantages will Dinas Powys get - if this scheme goes ahead?
