Dinas Powys has a strong Welsh speaking community. There is a risk we will loose this community/village status with this proposed development.
The proposed new site development in Dinas Powys will greatly increase the amount of traffic in the area. The Cardiff Road is mostly gridlocked for most of the day-emergency services has difficulty getting through. It will also have a huge impact on schools, doctors, dentists. Schools are already overcrowded and GPs and dentists do not have the capacity to take on extra patients. There is no disabled access at Eastbrook train station, not allowing for wheelchair users both sides of the tracks. Dinas Powys already has great problems with flooding. The proposed new site is already a flood risk building on this land will only make this worse. Where will the water go? I have lived in Dinas Powys since childhood, the main reason for this is because it is a lovely village with a close community. The development of the housing estates will take away the village feel to Dinas Powys. We will end up with one big housing estate from Barry to Llandough. This is not what the residents of Dinas Powys signed up for. The residents of Dinas Powys enjoy the green areas for walking-improving physical/mental health.
