Bydd cynnydd o 376 o dai newydd yn cael effaith negyddol ar yr iaith Gymraeg, achos ni fydd digon o le yn Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg i gymryd yr holl blant ychwanegol.
Ar hyn o bryd mae Ysgol Whitmore yn llawn, ac felly sai’n siŵr ble bydd y plant yma’n mynd hefyd.
Ni fydd y tai newydd yn fforddiadwy i bobl ifanc i symud i fewn, neu i gyplau / unigolion sy’n siarad Cymraeg i brynu.
An increase of 376 new houses will have a negative effect on the Welsh Language, because there will not be enough spaces in Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg to take all the additional children.
At the moment, Whitmore School is full, therefore I don’t know where all these children will go.
The new houses will not be affordable for Welsh speaking young people or couples / individuals to buy.
I think the whole RLDP needs looking at again as its not helping the huge traffic congestion that is facing this town each day. The location of the proposed 376 houses at Weycock Cross in particular, needs to be taken out of the scheme. It is too close to a major roundabout and then routes to Rhoose, Llantwit Major and Cardiff Airport. It is also at the cross-section to Five Mile Lane, Port Road and Pontrypridd Road are also major roads in Barry and they all converge at this location. As a rep for surfers against sewage in the Vale of Glamorgan, I am aware of the pressures on the current sewage systems in Barry, which eventually are pumped into the sea at Barry Island. Due to climate change and an increase in rainfall, is resulting in flooding and pollution.
