The 2014 assessments conclusion development. At this locations would be detrimental to the capacity and free flow of the traffic, nothing has changed except that today the traffic is much heavier and already experiences significant congestion, especially during peak times. This route is the main road to Rhoose, St Athan and Cardiff Airport. Additional Zebra crossing/traffic lights needed for pedestrian safety will further add to queuing or delays. Will add to pollution. Risk of sewage entering the Millwood stream. Which is often close to flooding. The proposed ponds may have limited capacity. They may be effective on sandy soil. But here we have clay soil so not very effective for drainage. This site is not close to amenities walking to co-op and Tesco is not feasible when carrying shopping small children, and older people. I defy anyone but the young and superfit to walk from the nearest train station. The lowest point in Barry to the highest up very steep hills. Doctors surgery, dentists, schools are not within walking distance and are full. I urge you to put the people first and not £££££.
