I strongly object to the housing development HG1 KS2 for several reasons as stated below:
When I was a child growing up at that end of Dinas Powys I was always told that land was green belt and would not be built on. What has changed?
The main road running through Dinas Powys cannot take any more traffic. Queueing to get through what used to be a village during peak hours can take over half an hour. Is there going to be yet another set of traffic lights or will it be a different junction?
I am also very concerned as initially there is talk of 250 houses. Is that just the start or is that the final number?
Let’s just say for one minute that is the final number, we are talking in the region of 600 – 700 people, if you average 3 people per house. Please don’t tell me those people are expected to register with the already over-subscribed Health Centre. It can take days to get through for appointments or prescriptions already.
I would be more openminded about the housing development if more money is going to be spent on the services and infrastructure of what used to be a nice manageable sized village community instead of just throwing up more houses.
I have also heard that if the proposed housing does go ahead the builders assigned to the project are persimmon. I hope this is not the case as it is a know fact that the build quality is very poor.
