I strongly object to the allocation of development in HG1 KS2 Eastbrook in the RLDP because it is environmentally unsafe, increases risks of flooding in the Dinas Powys area and would overwhelm local infrastructure. Local roads are already unable to cope with traffic volumes, air quality diminishes with growing traffic and more housing would only aggravate this. The plan offers no proven flood mitigation and residents already live with the threat of increasing flooding. It also erases one of the last local green spaces that our community depends on. Local schools and health centres are already at capacity and would struggle with demands posed by the proposed 250 dwellings. The Eastbrook site fails tests of soundness and should be removed from the plan.
