The roads are already heavily congested, and adding 250 homes with hundreds more cars would worsen an overstretched network. Llandough and Dinas Powys carry major Cardiff–Vale traffic without the infrastructure or public transport to support it, and Cardiff Road has been at capacity for years with no improvements. More vehicles would increase queues, worsen air quality, and further delay emergency services, which already struggle to get through. Extra side‑road traffic feeding onto Cardiff Road would only intensify these problems. How will these residents access Cardiff Road?
We are unable to currently get a doctors appointment, adding at least another 250 to 1000 people will again exacerbate this situation.
This is also a huge loss to local wildlife, and will destroy vast habitats for all wildlife.
Removing green fields and adding more concrete will only exacerbate existing flooding issues.
Risk of removing the distinction between Dinas Powys and Llandough and harming their distinctive identities.
Residents views and concerns should be taken into account in these decisions.
Green spaces should be protected because they absorb pollution, support mental wellbeing, and help tackle climate change.
The road is over congested as it is adding another 250 homes with approximately 1000 cars (as homes seem to have 3-4 cars) is ludicrous and needs urgently to be reviewed. Llandough and Dinas Powys have become the main route from Cardiff to the Vale of Glamorgan but they do not have the infrastructure or the public transport to support this, therefore residents heavily rely on cars. These areas are not supported in building roads to alleviate some of this congestion, reports mention Cardiff Road was at capacity 5 years ago, yet more traffic has been added to it, there have not been any improvements to this area, the extra traffic from this site will add to existing queues and be even more detrimental to air quality!
The traffic congestion is a real concern for residents requiring emergency services, the roads are clogged for more than half of the day, emergency services cannot get through the traffic congestion currently, adding more traffic will make this worse. Any increase in side roads will make this worse, how will these residents access Cardiff Road?

Dinas Powys already suffers with flooding, removing green fields and adding more concrete the water will have no where else to go and will exacerbate the flooding that frequently occurs.
This area also marked a distinction between Llandough and Dinas Powys, both villages very proud of their village structure and distinctive identities, this shows as residents are passionate to keep their villages and not be merged into a single area, residents views and concerns should be taken into account in these decisions.
Green spaces should be kept for wellbeing and the benefits that they provide in absorbing pollutants and providing a positive contribution to our mental health, along with the benefits that they bring to climate change.
