Many people in and around Dinas Powys speak Welsh. This is our language and as young people now learn this in school it will, hopefully, never be lost. It is important to our children future that they grow up to be proud of their Welsh language and culture. We are Welsh, but British and we should be proud of this and preserve all aspects of our culture for future generations and not lose it for ever. Also, we are a truly village community and this should not be discarded as it has been in many parts of the United Kingdom - lose the sense of belonging as in large towns and you lose your culture. We want to preserve our village and our Welsh culture.
Cardiff Road is already severely congested, particularly when people are going to and from work and taking children to school. These extra houses can only add to this, causing more delays. This will be a particular problem for emergency vehicles, patients requiring emergency admission to hospital will be delayed with the risk of serious consequences caused by this building plan. There are already an unacceptable delays for GP appointments, 250 more households can only make this worse. Schools are already full. There will be no shops within easy walking distance for elderly or disabled people. Is the existing gas, water, sewerage and electricity infrastructure adequate for these houses?
