It is not anticipated that the proposals will have any adverse effects on the Welsh Language. The March 2020 Census reports that 24% of residents in the Vale of Glamorgan can speak Welsh. In the case of this allocation, financial contributions to Education including Welsh Medium Education will be secured through a S106 agreement as part of any future planning application process.
The allocation of Readers Way is supported by the promoter and the site owners. The change to the indicative plan more accurately reflects the Masterplan submitted by the site promoters - reflecting the intention that Readers Way would provide the principal access and that Celtic Way would only be used as a secondary access. There will be no through route on the site that could be utilised to by-pass Fontygary Road.
