Simply, the plan CANNOT go ahead for the following reasons:
- Mass congestion and pollution with no clear or concise alternatives or help with the outcomes. The developers have not thought of the congestion which will now span all the way back to Cardiff, leaving many residents stuck in traffic for hours on end, as well as fumes and pollution completely overwhelming the surrounding areas.
- Eastbrook train station will be overcome with more morning commuters, while the reality is that current residents are often denied access to morning trains into Cardiff because they are already at capacity. I have personally seen people pass out on these trains because of the mass of people on them, packed in like sardines. To top it all off, there is no disabled access at this station, with wheelchair users having to go around Dinas Powys in order to get to the other side.
- The schools and GP surgery are already over capacity. They simply cannot take any more people on. Many current residents can't even get onto the waiting list and have to go without a GP. People who are already registered to the surgery can't see a doctor for days, sometimes weeks. The schools are all over capacity, meaning children have to be enrolled in schools all across the Vale of Glamorgan, further increasing the substantial congestion through Dinas Powys.
- Lastly, but the furthest thing from least, the flooding. Residents in Dinas Powys have already been subject to increased flooding over recent years. There are many houses that have been damaged be flood, and now due to the amount of times it has happened, they cannot have their home insured. The proposed plan to have 250 more homes built on an area which is a natural flood drain is seriously risking the lives and safety of residents in Dinas Powys. Flooding could not only bankrupt people and make them potentially homeless, but there is a serious risk to people losing their lives.
With all this outlined, can the developers really have these factors on their conscience and go ahead with these plans, or is it all really about money? Please, please think. Do not do this.

They have not thought of the danger and mass issues to the residents. The proposed area is on a main road between Barry and Cardiff, which is already one of the busiest and most congested roads in South Wales. The traffic will be impossible to get through at all times of the day. The schools and GP surgery is already over capacity. The morning trains are already impossible to board with current residents attempting to get to work. To top it all off, the flooding will increase and leave many residents bankrupt and potentially homeless. Please do not do this.
