The proposals are not expected to have any adverse effects on the Welsh language. The redevelopment of the former Aberthaw Power Station as a Green Energy, Employment and Innovation Park will create high-quality employment, training, and education opportunities, supporting local communities and attracting skilled workers to the area. By fostering inclusive economic growth, engagement, and education initiatives, the development can contribute positively to the use and visibility of Welsh, supporting the social and cultural well-being of the Vale of Glamorgan and aligning with RLDP objectives to maintain sustainable, vibrant communities.
CCR Energy strongly supports Policy EMP1 and the designation of the former Aberthaw Power Station as a Green Energy, Employment and Innovation Park. The redevelopment will create a regionally significant hub for renewable and low-carbon energy, zero-carbon manufacturing, and innovation, delivering high-quality skilled jobs, training, and education opportunities. The proposals integrate sustainable land use, biodiversity enhancements, green infrastructure, flood risk mitigation, and support the circular economy. Phased development, masterplanning, and stakeholder engagement ensure a comprehensive approach, safeguarding adjacent communities and the East Aberthaw Coast SSSI, while maximising sustainable transport connections and contributing significantly to decarbonisation and the Vale’s green economy.
