The proposals are not expected to have any adverse effects on the Welsh language. Redevelopment of the former Aberthaw Power Station as a Green Energy, Innovation and Employment Park will support regional economic growth, create high-quality jobs, and attract a skilled workforce, which can help sustain and strengthen local communities. The development aligns with the Vale of Glamorgan’s well-being objectives by supporting inclusive growth and community prosperity, and any future engagement and communications will continue to ensure opportunities for the use and promotion of Welsh within the area.
CCR Energy welcomes the recognition within the Vale of Glamorgan Corporate Plan 2025–2030 of the Council’s commitment to delivering a Replacement Local Development Plan that balances sustainable growth with environmental, social and cultural needs. The specific reference to supporting the development of the Cardiff Capital Region Energy site (formerly Aberthaw Power Station) is strongly supported. The redevelopment of the site as a Green Energy, Innovation and Employment Park aligns with the Corporate Plan’s well-being objectives by creating high-quality employment, fostering innovation, enhancing the local environment, and contributing to the Vale of Glamorgan’s wider economic and community prosperity.
