I am concerned about flooding on Cardiff Road and Dinas Powys properties, worsened by building on fields that increase surface runoff. The local infrastructure, especially roads, is already at capacity, and new housing sites will cause further gridlock and safety issues. There is a lack of sustainable travel options, with narrow pavements and no cycle lanes. The development threatens green belt and woodland areas, harming local ecology. The cumulative impact of multiple sites amounts to over-development, placing an unsustainable burden on the community. GP already over capacity since taking on Penarth and Grange town patients.

1.Flooding
Cardiff road and Dinas Powys properties have suffered from severe flooding with the road nearly impossible recently. Building on these fields will increase surface run off and increased flooding
2.Pressure on Local Infrastructure and Roads
The local road network, particularly the primary routes through Dinas Powys and Llandough, is already at absolute capacity. Increasing the volume of housing via sites such as 444 and HG1 KS2 will lead to further gridlock on the Cardiff Road. The existing infrastructure is insufficient to support the resulting increase in traffic, posing risks to both road safety and local air quality.
3. Lack of Sustainable Travel Options
Despite the proximity to existing settlements, these sites suffer from a lack of adequate travel infrastructure due to narrow pavements, absence of cycle lanes, poor accessibility via the footbridge only to Eastbrook station.
4. Destruction of Green Belt and Woodland
The proposed development would result in the irreversible destruction of the local Green Belt. Furthermore, I am deeply concerned about the impact on local sites of woodland interest. These areas provide essential ecological buffers and are vital for local biodiversity; their removal for housing is environmentally unjustifiable.
5. Cumulative Impact
The inclusion of multiple sites, including the "small" section off Cardiff Road (Site 444) and the developments in Llandough, represents an over-development of the area. While I note that Site 429 (Pen-y-Turnpike Road) was not accepted, the remaining proposed sites still place an unsustainable burden on the community.
