Ensure active travel provision is in place before people move into new housing. All sites have potential to improve active travel for existing residents as well as new residents, reducing car dependency. Ensure active travel routes go beyond the sites to places people want to travel to and link with other active travel routes. Ebikes in particular have a real potential to reduce car use so ensure safe cycle storage for all households is included in plans. Improve access to public transport eg lifts at stations and better bus links to services.
