I object to this plan for the following reasons:
1. Increased congestion on Cardiff Road. The congestion on Cardiff Road is already a major problem, and this will only worsen if this plan proceeds. The roads will be gridlocked, which will affect local businesses, as well as cause greater risk for emergency services not to reach their destinations within a reasonable time.
2. Doctors and Schools are already at capacity. Local primary and secondary schools are already full and over-subscribed. It is already almost impossible to see a doctor in Dinas Powys. This plan will only worsen these situations.
3. Increased flooding. Water run off from the Eastbrook site will enter the Cadoxton river which has burst its banks and flooded homes in Dinas Powys many times. More homes mean more discharge from raw sewage.
4. Loss of wildlife and reduced greenbelt. The planned development will destroy vast habitats for wildlikfe. Green belt boundaries are supposed to be protected spaces.
5. Dinas Powys will lose its village identity with the increased population.
