The housing requirement stated by the plan seems unsustainable and unrealistic. If only two if the key sites were to fall through the the amount of houses supposedly required cannot be reached. The figures around required housing for a start are questionable. Migration from outside the Vale taking up housing stock needs to be addressed. Priority should be given to the well being and daily lives of existing residents first and foremost and housing for people born within the Vale.
The amount housing required needs to be more realistically recalculated and priority given to housing for people born and already living within the Vale. The issue of migration from outside the area placing additional stress on the limited housing stock needs to be addressed first and foremost. The employment land goals should also be greater and be aligned with solid infrastructure improvements to actually encourage real long term sustainable business to move to the area.
