I think that the uptake of the Welsh language learning will go down. It is already possible to learn Welsh in class or on=line. Increasing the number of non-Welsh speakers will either decrease or make no difference to the use of spoken or learning Welsh.
My comments/objections relate to the Readers Way. However, they are true for other areas where farmed land is being taken for new housing as Rhoose, where considerable new housing has already been built. There are few local jobs or amenities. Very poor public transport means increased traffic jams on already busy, single carriageway link roads. Estimated car ownership for Readers way 700 to 800 new vehicles. The LDP seems quite different from the objectives of the VOG "Green Infrastructure Strategy" document. Having rural pictures and putting the word "Green" in every sentence does not make it a Green Plan.
There are many areas in the Vale that would be more suitable for new housing. Areas of land previously used for industry. These areas are where there is a need for low cost housing and the infrastructure already exists. Building over the land between semi-rural areas pushes people away from low emission travel needs and increases climate change. Repurposing existing buildings as low cost dwellings. Helping developers to achieve this rather than just destroy land and upset communities. More actual consultation with views and needs of existing residents rather than just showing them what you are going to do.
