I am concerned about the unsafe allocation of the site, particularly the construction of large interlinked catchment basins near gardens, which pose risks to children, attract litter, vandalism, and pests (particularly rodents & midges), and could lead to loss of garden use. I also question the insurance implications of having a watercourse on our boundary, as insurers may need to be notified, potentially increasing costs or causing policies to be refused, depending on their assessment.
Plan needs to show how existing residents will be protected from an increase in pests, how will the catchment basins be made safe and how will litter picking and maintenance be carried out and at what frequency eg particularly after recycling day when plastic blows everywhere, potentially blocking outlets.
Not withstanding previous comments on the unsafe allocation of this site on potential flooding issues into existing dwellings. The construction of large interlinked catchment basins (ie a watercourse) alongside existing garden boundaries will be a dangerous magnet for small children and a high risk area for wind blown litter & vandalism. When drying out they will be a breeding ground for pests like rodents and midges resulting in loss of garden facilities in adjoining gardens in warmer weather. What are the insurance implications of having a watercourse on our boundary? Insurance Companies may need to be informed and policy costs may become unaffordable or even be refused, depending on their interpretation.
