It depends on the ethnicity of the people who will purchase these houses. Some may come and want to enrol their children in Welsh speaking educational facilities which is wonderful. Others will come because of their jobs and some just want to move of the city If you don't have a mic of Welsh speakers then the Welsh language will eventually die. I think it is classed as endangered already.
Before I begin my objection I would like to state that I am not a NIMBY. I recognise the need for housing especially as the UK population has increased dramatically over the years. However, without the infrastructure being put in place then all that happens is the standard of living is reduced for residents. I live in Georges Row which is usually congested due to the residents on Cardiff Road having to park in the street. George's Row is proposed as an access for all vehicles. This spills out onto Cardiff Road, which will lead to more congestion. I am worried about the water run off into the Cadaxton river the extra houses being built. This winter has had an exceptionally high rainfall and with climate change extreme weather will be the norm. Where is the infrastructure to accommodate these extra houses? Dinas Powys has one health centre, one primary school, one church primary school and two high schools in Penarth, which I am led to believe, are oversubscribed. Finally you as a council, have you got evidence that these houses will enhance Dinas Powys? If you can see that there will be more traffic congestion, probably more flooding of houses, an infrastructure that is creaking, how can you justify this proposal?
