Is this a serious question?! You are probably talking about 1000 people max. Unless they hold a private Eisteddfod I can't see it will make one iota of difference.
I oppose further development in Dinas Powys due to severe traffic congestion caused by the 20mph speed limit, poor road conditions, frequent flooding, and inadequate flood defenses. Local services such as schools and medical centres are overwhelmed, with long wait times and limited capacity. Construction would increase traffic and strain infrastructure further, while environmental impact would be negative. I believe development should focus on brownfield sites on the outskirts of the village. Given high council tax and poor service, I strongly object to this proposal.
Dinas Powys CANNOT support further development. The roads are totally log-jammed at peak times (and frequently outside these) due to the volume of traffic and the ridiculous 20mph speed limit.
There are frequent floods due to poor drain maintenance and insufficient flood defences in the local river.
The state of the roads throughout the village is appalling and riddled with pot-holes.
Our schools are full and our local medical centre cannot cope with the volume of patients. Wait time just to get someone to answer the phone can be in excess of 20 minutes.
Any construction project would not only be environmentally unfriendly but it would wreak havoc in terms of delays through the village and to and from Cardiff, Barry and Penarth.
250 new houses would likely mean at least another 500 cars and potentially 500 more children requiring places in the schools.
Further development should be undertaken on brown field sites on the outskirts of the village.
Given the ludicrously high level of council tax (approaching £5K p.a.) for my own property, for which we receive a shoddy service, the council surely has more pressing priorities - especially given the approaching Senedd elections because many are certainly not impressed with Labour / Plaid.
I object to this development going ahead in the strongest manner.
