I oppose the proposed plan due to concerns about traffic congestion, as daily commutes are already difficult. I am worried about increased flooding risks, particularly after recent culvert failures and river floods, which could worsen if natural water barriers are removed. The area is rich in wildlife and green spaces, which would be destroyed, impacting local biodiversity and leading to increased pollution. The destruction of greenbelt land will then effect the identity of Dinas Powys as it divides Dinas and Llandough. There is a lane on the planning into Georges row which does not belong to the council it's a private lane and narrow. There is only limited parking at Eastbrook station and schools and doctors surgeries are already full and oversubscribed, without further development. I urge rejection of the plans.

I strongly oppose the proposed plan. I live in Georges Row adjacent to the proposed site. I travel this road every day as I am primary carer for my Father who also lives in dinas. It takes forever to get out of George's row and then often I'm joining a queue. This is not even on rush hour, but by the time I travel home late afternoon it's often gridlock.
I was born in dinas Powys and the flooding risk is real. After days of heavy rain the man hole covers start bubbling up on the Cardiff road and the water gathers across. The culvert along Cardiff road burst over recently and it was closed. The cadoxton river has also burst flooding houses. If you take away the fields, trees and natural ditches that hold water that flooding risk will be higher. When it's been torrential I have to keep an eye on any alerts to make sure I can get home. There is a lane on the planning into Georges row, this does not belong to the council it's a private lane and narrow.
This is a beautifully diverse area for nature. If the councillors walked it they would see the wild life. Foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, birds, bats swooping, so much in the ditches and beautiful flowers and established trees. We are told to go green recycle etc., but this will mean distruction of those things and added car pollution. As well as the pollution due to lorries and building.
The destruction of greenbelt land will then effect the identity of Dinas Powys. It divides Dinas and llandough it's not to be used because it suits a building plan.
There is only limited parking at Eastbrook station. Schools are full and oversubscribed, and the doctors surgery is hard enough to get an appointment now without further development.
Please don't ignore these comments, say no to the plans.
