Account should be taken of smaller communities that have taken the brunt of developments over the last few decades. High density housing swamps existing communities and removes all sense of identity. Rhoose, for example will become one huge housing estate. Smaller scale developments for smaller communities are more easily absorbed into communities. High density should be for brownfield sites or larger towns. The higher cost of developing brownfield sites should not override the impact of greenfield sites on communities and the environment.

The number of properties proposed at Readers Way has increased by 25%. Why? Rhoose is a small village community with a large number of bungalows and low density housing. The introduction of an inner city high density development with a large proportion of low cost & social housing is at odds with the existing community and will being traffic gridlock, overwhelm local services, bring an increase in anti-social behaviour and cause general worry and anxiety to the existing residents.
