This proposal would lead to the permanent destruction of a well established ancient green eco-system and the habitats of wildlife's including a variety of animals, birds, bats, insects, trees, plants and invaluable flora etc.
Inadequate infrastructure-road are already over capacity and are constantly blocked leading to dangerous and life threatening situation for pedestrians, in particular school children. Buses and trains are currently full at capacity and currently can cope adequately for passengers. More traffic will lead to increased pollution for residents. Schools are currently full to capacity. The medical centre is oversubscribed.
The area proposed is prone to flooding and more rainwater washing into the Cadoxton River will invariably lead to further and more frequent flooding on Cardiff Road and the village. This will also increase the likelihood of water pollution. Over exploitation of the green wedge will change the nature of Dinas Powys from village to town.
The loss of the current eco-system will have a detrimental impact on the wellness and mental wellbeing of many residents who ramble freely on this land at present.
The greywater sewage outfall from Llandough hospital seeps into this area which is neither safe or healthy for a new housing area.
