I oppose the proposed housing development at Eastbrook, as it would harm the village's green space and alter its character. Eastbrook acts as a natural buffer, and additional development could worsen existing infrastructure issues like traffic, schools, and healthcare. The loss of green space threatens Dinas Powys's rural identity and could lead to further encroachment. I believe the proposal should be reconsidered to protect the environment and community interests, ensuring the village remains a desirable place to live.
GP Surgery, schools and infrastucture needs to be looked at before planning is approved.
There has been a huge increase in traffic since more houses were buit in Barry with gridlock on Cardiff Road and Penyturnpike traffic increased with drivers having no care for any speed limits. This also needs to be addressed first.
I strongly object to the proposed housing development at Eastbrook in Dinas Powys, as it represents a harmful expansion that would fundamentally alter the character of this valued green area. Eastbrook serves as a natural buffer within the village setting. Dinas Powys already faces pressure on infrastructure, including traffic congestion, school capacity, and GP services, and further development risks exacerbating these existing strains without clear evidence of adequate mitigation. The loss of green space would undermine the rural identity that makes Dinas Powys such a desirable place to live, while setting a concerning precedent for future encroachment into surrounding countryside. For these reasons, the proposal should be reconsidered in favour of protecting the long-term environmental and community interests of local residents.
