I like many Dinas Powys residents have serious concerns with this application. We have concerns and issues with the following. Traffic flow on the Cardiff Road, not only at peak times but throughout the day, this includes traffic coming from Barry going into Cardiff. There are issues with the availability of doctors appointments currently, even without future increases in local population. Lack of dentistry. School availability and the severe congestion at school opening and closing times. There are also concerns regarding surface water flooding, which is likely to increase over time due to global warming and anticipated wetter winters. Traffic flow and traffic signal timing at the "Merry Harriers" junction and the Cardiff Road junction with Redlands Road, impacts the traffic flow through Dinas Powys. The signal sequencing and road condition at the "Barons Court" junction with Penarth is deteriorating. Any increase in housing in and around Dinas Powys will also increase the traffic flow "rat run" via Penyturnpike Road to Leckwith which is a narrow and poorly maintained highway. Dinas Powys is also subjected to power outages, has electrical capacity been factored into this project?
