I have lived in my community since 1981 and have seen it grow significantly, losing its village character. I oppose the Eastbrook HG1 KS2 development, which would add 250 houses, increasing traffic and straining local services already at capacity. Roads are deteriorating and heavily used, especially by heavy goods vehicles and speeding private vehicles. Access via the A4055 would worsen congestion and delays. I believe this development would erode our community’s identity and bring us closer to Llandough and Penarth, which I oppose.
I have lived in my present property since1981. Over that period of time there have be substantial changes to this community in that time with the population growing substantially , and it not remaining a village that I moved to some 40 years ago.

Whilst I acknowledge that there is a need to build homes nationally ,as outlined by the goverment, I feel that this development would have a radical affect on this community and its infrastucture for years to come . A further 250 houses would generate on average two vehicles per household and I would imagine that the properties , as new builds , would entice new families putting further starin on the educational and health services within the village both of which are at full capacity at present .
The roads are at braeking point with residential side roads being used as short cuts ,creating unnecessary hazards and dangers to the community the roads are in poor condition and further traffic can only further this. When I moved here in 1981 the A4055 was a busy road but became quieter between the hours of 10pm till 6 pm ,now the quiet period is 3am to 4am only with heavy goods vehicles constantly using the road ans private vehicles ignoring speed restrictions More vehicles from the proposed site can only further add to the problem I beleive access to the site will be off the A4055 with traffic lights causing more delays and congestion to road overwhelmed with traffic enhanced in recent years by developments in Barry Waterfront and other developments .
This work would bring us in this community nearer to Llandough and Penarth losing our identity .
I DO NOT want this development on my doorstep and I hope this putd my objection forward
