I do not believe this development will have any real effect on the Welsh language.
I object to the plan for 250 new homes behind Georges Row in Dinas Powys. Recent developments have already strained local infrastructure, causing severe congestion, delayed emergency responses, increased road pollution, and heightened flood risks due to more concrete covering greenbelt areas. Local services like healthcare and schools are overcrowded, and wildlife habitats are being lost. I believe these issues will worsen with the proposed development, and I urge reconsideration to protect the community and environment.
I am submitting my objection to the plan to build 250 new homes on land behind Georges Row in Dinas Powys.
In recent years Dinas Powys has had significant new developments at Cearwent Gardens and Scholars Park, as well as smaller developments near Hebron Hall and St Andrews School.
The infrastructure around Dinas Powys is already stretched to breaking point. The proposal will make worse -
- the congestion on routes in and out of the village. Cardiff Road has been a regular ‘log-jam’ during busy periods for the 20 years I have lived in Dinas Powys every new development adds to the congestion.
- the ability of Emergency Services to respond during times of congestion
- increased road traffic pollution at busy times because of increased congestion, worsening the health and welfare of those who live in the village.
- the likelyhood of increased flooding as yet more ‘greenbelt soak away’ is covered in concrete. The Cadaxton river has burst it banks and flooded homes many times causing misery for existing residents.
- local services such a doctor, dentist, and schools which are over subscribed
- the plight of the wildlife as vast natural habitats are permanently removed.
