Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I object to the development of 250 houses in the area. Cardiff Road is heavily congested, especially at peak times, and traffic has increased significantly over 40 years. Limited access to Eastbrook station reduces reliance on public transport. The resulting air pollution harms residents' health, including children, and has been linked to health issues such as cancer and asthma. Local health services and schools are already oversubscribed. The development will increase the risk of flooding and cause loss of wildlife and habitats.

Q1: I would like to record my objection to 250 houses being built in this area, for many reasons.

Cardiff Road is already heavily congested particularly at peak times but also throughout the day. I have lived in Dinas Powys for 40 years and the amount of traffic on this road has increased at an alarming rate. It is unlikely that all residents will use public transport, especially as access to Eastbrook station is limited.

The air pollution caused by the road congestion is greatly detrimental to the health of residents - I have lost count of the number of cancer cases in people living adjacent to this road. It is very harmful to the health of children walking to the local schools and particularly those in the nursery and infants school. My son went to this nursery during the 1990s and developed asthma soon afterwards, which may have been exacerbated by air pollution.

The local doctors and schools are already oversubscribed. It is always difficult to get a GP appointment, so with a possible 500 or more residents pressure on these resources will be increased.

The risk of flooding will be increased due to water run-off. There has been extensive flooding in Dinas Powys recently and removal of hedges and trees will increase the risk. It will also lead to loss of wildlife and habitats.

Q2: No impact
