Children already have to travel to Barry to attend Welsh speaking schools so I don't think it will benefit the Welsh language in any way unless future resident's with families are also prepared for their children to commute to school which will just add to the pressure on the road infrastructure.
The selection of this site is fundamentally flawed. It relies on a "sustainable" transport model that doesn't exist; an hourly train and bus services cannot support the 1,000 extra cars this development will generate. The road network is already at capacity, with tailbacks from Weycock Cross regularly reaching the Holiday Inn roundabout during rush hours. With the additional 2,100 daily commuters from September 2027 when the Tech College opens, this will cause total gridlock in the area. Furthermore, a decade of construction traffic will destroy residential amenity.
There must be Grampian conditions to ensure drainage, grid, and GP infrastructure are legally delivered before any occupation occurs to prevent flooding which this area is prone to and service failures that have happened with previous developments.
