- building on green belt should be avoided, natural environment should be protected for wildlife, flora and fauna
- this area often floods, drainage will be affected by proposed development causing increased flooding on Cardiff road
- increased emissions and pollution from increased traffic which is a health issue for residents, pedestrians, cyclists and the local school children
- increased population will put pressure on GP surgery and local schools
- local roads will be overwhelmed. E.g. junction at Merry Harriers
