I oppose this development alongside fellow villagers for a number of reasons:
1. Unsound justification for expanding outside Aberthin’s settlement boundaries
2. Road access not suitable - there have already been road traffic accidents on the stretch of road due to poor visibility around a blind bend, volume of traffic is too heavy for a small village, it is already dangerous for pedestrians crossing due to multiple side-roads and pub carparks feeding into the main thoroughfare.
3. Overdevelopment of more greenfield sites - this area is used by dog walkers, runners and families as a safer, greener alternative walking route into Cowbridge. Building on more of our green spaces is bad for the environment and risks overdevelopment of our rural villages
4. Big building developments are already underway in Cowbridge, and are not complete, so further development is unnecessary so close when infrastructure isn’t available
