The proposal represents disproportionate growth as adding 25 dwellings would increase the size of Aberthin by approximately 15% in a single development. Existing significant highway safety concerns for this busy and dangerous road between Cowbridge and Ystradowen and adding another side road is not a sensible move. Flood risk and infrastructure concerns as part of the site fall within flood zones 2 and 3. The RLDP directs growth to strategic and sustainable locations,Aberthin is classified as a Minir Rural Settlement not a sustainable growth location.
