This policy is good in the main but greater weighting should be given to visual aspects as well. Many of the new solar farms within the vale are too visible from major roads and are negatively impacting on the visual aesthetics of the area. residents and visitors well being is negatively affected when whilst travelling around they vale they feel as if they are living within a giant power generation scheme.
The policy needs to consider visual aspects more greatly and developers of solar farms need to be held to higher standards in terms of vegetation to shield the sites from view. The sites should also be more carefully considered and be required to use topographical relief to shield the sites from public view to a greater extent.
