The proposals are not expected to have any adverse effects on the Welsh language. The redevelopment of the former Aberthaw Power Station as the Cardiff Capital Region Aberthaw Green Energy Park will support local employment, skills development, and education opportunities, helping to retain and attract skilled communities within the Vale of Glamorgan. By fostering inclusive economic growth and promoting engagement with local communities, the development can contribute positively to the use and visibility of Welsh, supporting the social and cultural well-being of the area in line with RLDP objectives.
CCR Energy strongly supports Objective 9 of the RLDP to build a prosperous and green economy. The redevelopment of the former Aberthaw Power Station as the Cardiff Capital Region Aberthaw Green Energy Park will deliver high-quality and skilled employment, training, and education opportunities, reinforcing the Vale of Glamorgan as a hub for renewable and low-carbon technologies. The proposals also support wider economic diversification by creating opportunities for business premises and employment within rural settlements and facilitating the growth of rural enterprises. This aligns with the RLDP’s objectives to foster sustainable economic growth, innovation, and inclusive prosperity across the Vale
