Until St Athan is directly linked to the rail network and served by more frequent bus services people in this area will be reliant on private vehicle use to commute to work. The road network in the area is unsuitable for large traffic increases and this development will place extra stress on already congested junctions such as Weycock Cross further down the Vale towards Barry.
St Athan needs to be linked up to the train network and major roading improvements need to be undertaken before this sites inclusion in the LDP. The infrastructure around sewerage also needs further investigation prior to inclusion in the LDP.
