I strongly OBJECT to this site being used. The site is situated outside of the RLDP's defined strategic growth area and not in keeping with the visual and physical coalescence between the small Village of Llanmaes and the Town of Llantwit Major. A large retail store located on a greenfield site, in a green wedge, next to the Llanmaes conservation area would be a major intrusion and cause an irreversible scar on the ancient surrounding countryside. Where retail store space is needed, surely this should be within WG town centre first policy, otherwise brownfield such as Llandow Trading Estate.
