The vision is too vague. Quantifiable goals with figures need to set and prominent in the wording of the vision statement. At present the statement is weak and gives too much opportunity for future councils to say they have met the vision goals by undertaking simple improvements. For example "the creation of new habitats", by 2036 if one new small wetland area has been created for example that could be interpreted as we met our vision.
Quantifiable goals with figures need to be included in the headline vision statement that challenge the council to hold itself to high standards and strive to achieve real improvement. For example a net increase in the amount of native habitat in the vale by x acres or x percent.
