The site is inappropriate for building 105 houses especially elderly people with a 12° slope and should be removed from the proposed RLDP. It will not deliver sustainable housing and it will mean a big loss of amenities to the community. The present access has been obtained for agricultural access only, not a 2 way access for traffic from the St. Athan Road. Positioned as it is, on a 90° bend, this makes access from the St. Athan Road travelling southwards extremely dangerous especially for bikes, motor bikes and cyclists. The development is on a green field site in a special landscape area which is against Welsh government policy.
There is unsafe pedestrian access from both Cowbridge and from a southerly direction.
The devlopment will have an adverse impact on the landscape of the Thaw valley, a designated Special Landscape Area and would mean the loss of a rural public foot path. The site is situated at the end of a privately owned and privately maintained lane, namely Windmill Lane. Whilst there is public access through the lane by footpath to the field, vehicular access has only been allowed for agricultural purposes, and for services to the properties adjoining the lane. The residents will have their privacy impacted by the increased pedestrian traffic.
The site has been refused planning permission 3 times in the past. This position has not changed since then.
We wish to object to the above development.

As an alternative site, why has land on the old Llandow airfield not been considered? This could have access to a rail line nearby.
