Development of this site will result in the physical and visual coalescence of the the town of Llantwit Major and Llanmaes. The site is outside of the RLDP's defined Strategic Growth Area and contravenes the Planning Policy of the Vale. The proposed large store is incongruous within the setting of the Green Wedge and would be a major and significant intrusion to the countryside. It is clearly detrimental to the Llanmaes Conservation Area.
