Based on the recent expansion the majority of incoming residents are non Welsh speaking.
The location is predominately English speaking.
1. This site was removed from previous development by VoG responding to residents concerns.
2. 141 homes have been built in Wick in the last 10 years increasing the site of a rural village by 70%. An additional 50 homes will effectively double the size of the village with no additional infrastructure provided.
3. The affordable housing provision has been also met as in the same period 43% of homes have been affordable whereas an additional 50 homes would increase this to 58%.
4. There is no access route to the site as St. James residents own the roads.
I feel that an alternative site should be found that does not require the loss of green agricultural space.
Brownfield sites should be considered as an alternative. Consideration should also be given to other rural locations that have not been subjected to such a high expansion percentage.
