Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Pen Y Turnpike/Leckwith Junction is busy and as stated it avoids congested routes which could be considered major. To add traffic lights at an acute angled junction will be difficult and will back up and slow traffic, as a strategy to reduce use this is short sighted.

And again cycling up Pen Y Turnpike is hazardous and unless the proposal is to include new cycle lanes then it must only be stated for effect.

Newid wedi’i awgrymu gan ymatebydd:

1. Reduce use of Pen y turn pike by improving flow on the main Cardiff road for commuters.
2. Improve cycling links that actually work on Pen y turnpike, where it is currently hazardous.
3. Widening of PYT is probably not possible, and adding a cycle lane is not going to happen, why state this at the Junction
4. With the addition of Key area HG1 KS2 and potentially sites 443/431/3838/369 This adds considerable loading.

Traffic flow needs to be improved, HG1 KS2 site adds another set of traffic lights, increasing use 250 houses, 250 plus cars potentially? forcing traffic back into DP, this will only lead to people using PYT as a shortcut increasing traffic.

To use Public transport use as a transport strategy going forward is short sighted unless flow is improved and car use is reduced, I see no sign this will change especially as people shift towards electric vehicles.
