I agree with the removal of this site from the Candidate List for the RLDP 2021 to 2036. It is good agricultural land, development would be an incursion into the open countryside, and access through the village would be problematic. Colwinston has no key services, facilities, or public transport.

I understand this site is not currently being considered for development, however, I would object should it be subsequently brought forward, on grounds similar to those for site 4069.

I believe the council's assessment of the Pantiles Site is inaccurate or incomplete. The site supports active travel, is not on a flood plain, and is adjacent to existing community facilities. It is identified as Sub 3B land and aligns with policies prioritising site allocation. The site meets the need for affordable homes, is in a sustainable location, and supports climate change mitigation. I urge the inspector to reexamine these decisions to ensure the VOGCC RLDP remains sound.

Pantiles Site
The councils assessment undertaken are either inaccurate or dont fully reflect the sites actual characteristics.
Supports active travel 2013 Act and VOGCC policies, Objective 8, 2.12 + 2.13. Route identified and on hold by VOGCC for completion, existing football adjacent to site.
Not on any flood plain or other constraints.
Support retail and shop and cafe to north.
The lowest BMV under ALC Wales predictive maps as Sub 3B land.
VOGCC policies state where candidate sites are put forward and clearly show this, their policies and methodology state these should be allocated first.
LHMA state along with VOGCC data the clear need for affordable homes in the area and Llandow Ward. This site promotes that need.
Not in the open countryside as stated as adjorn, commensurate to the north, public community recreational land to the west, public highways to the east and existing access and utilities and residential settlement in the south.
Supports and mitigates the effects of climate change.
Supports VOGCC policy MD10.
This site represents a sustainable and deliverable opportunity.
We urge the inspector to reexamine these decisions and support otherwise the VOGCC RLDP is unsound.

I support the allocation of section 2782 (Pantiles). This location is perfect due to it being next to the main road through the village of colwinston. This location is not in the middle of the countryside and will have great access into the wider village.
Having new development on this land will help grow other facilities such as the local village farm shop and cafe, the public house, the church in wales primary school and other clubs such as youth club and after school clubs for children.
The land is perfect for bringing affordable housing into the area, according to the LH/MA they state that there is a clear need for affordable houses in the area. Having cheaper options in the area will help the younger generation to purchase homes in the village they have grown up in. This contributes to more generations staying in the community and not having to move away to other locations due to housing prices.
This land supports the Active Travel in Wales Act (2013) as there is an active footpath, encourage all ages of people to exercise through walking, going for a run and cycling in the village. This will contribute to overall health and wellness of those living in the area.
Allocation of section 2782 (Pantiles) is land not on a flood plane, this being a ideal location as the affordable homes will not have the risk of flooding during the weather conditions that may present in the future.
