This portion of land is of historic note as it leads up to the iron age hill fort which is one of the important areas of Cowbridge and of particular historical interest and value to CADW. It provides a rural backdrop to the town and as there is a footpath through it provides green open space with public access and is regularly used as such. Additionally the development at Clare Garden Village is not complete and therefore adequate housing in the locality is going to be available in addition to the other areas already being developed in Cowbridge.
