I object to any development on land east of Llangan, which at present is used as pasture for cows and sheep. I believe it remains largely unimproved because it has no artificial fertilisers added to it. This makes it a valuable meadow supporting native flora, which are increasingly rare in Wales. The new Environment Bill emphasises protecting the natural environment, and preventing development on this land would help reverse biodiversity decline and promote native species. I believe conserving this meadow aligns with national environmental priorities and biodiversity targets.
I am making this comment about the land east of Llangan. I would like to object to any development on this field which is occasionally used as pasture for cows and sheep. To the best of my knowledge no artificial fertiliser is spread on this land. This makes it particularly valuable as a meadow in which native flora can flourish. Such ‘unimproved’ meadows are quite rare in Wales and every effort should be made to conserve them. A new Environment [Principles, Governance and Biodiversity Targets, Wales] Bill was passed in the Senedd last February [2026]which established a new framework for environmental protection. To quote Huw Irranca-Davies the Deputy First Minister with responsibility for Climate change the passing of this Bill ‘has sent a clear message that protecting our natural environment is a national priority’. Not allowing development on the above land will help reverse biodiversity decline and allow the variety of native species to increase.
