Traffic impact with poor infrastructure . Noise. Ecology. Urban sprawl, merging Boverton with Eglwys Brewis, contravening planning policy.. Impact on conservation area and listed buildings. Impact on established town centre and local business
Significant objections to his an neighbouring fields have been put forward from the outset so it’s difficult to fathom how this site is still a candidates.
Accesss and surrounding infrastructure cannot accommodate this development. There is no demand for another supermarket in Llantwit at all, and certainly not one her AND at Llanmaes. It would be hugely detrimental to local shops within the established town centre. The scale of building required within the conservation area and the setting of listed buildings and county treasures would. Significantly detrimental to the character. Building here would erode the green space between two settlements, creating urban sprawl. The site has significant habitat with retired, owls, mammals such as weasels, fox, hedgehogs and moles. Surely the noise associated with a retail use in this location would be severely detrimental to the amenity of the local residents. The authority have demised mush smaller development of 2-3 houses, on similar grounds, where noise would clearly be less of an issue.
