In accordance with the Council's approved Delivery Agreement, landowners, developers, and other interested parties were invited to nominate 'Candidate Sites' for potential inclusion within the emerging Vale of Glamorgan Replacement Local Development Plan (RLDP), as a part of the pre-deposit stage of preparation. The call for Candidate Sites was held between 20th June 2022 and 13th September 2022.
The purpose of the Candidate Site stage is to ensure that, if land is allocated for development in the RLDP, sites are realistic and deliverable within the Plan period, up to 2036.
The candidate site methodology sets out that a second call for candidate sites would take place during the consultation on the RLDP Preferred Strategy. This consultation took place between the 6th of December 2023 and the 14th of February 2024 and included a second call for Candidate Sites.
Please note that that the sites listed below have been submitted to the Council for consideration for potential inclusion in the RLDP. Their inclusion on the list does not infer that the Council considers them to be suitable for allocation.
The Candidate Sites have been assessed to determine whether they support the Replacement LDP Strategy and where appropriate their suitability to be carried forward into the Replacement Local Development Plan. As part of the Deposit consultation, interested parties have the opportunity to make representations on the sites submitted as part of the first and second call for candidate sites.
